Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elect bat first and it turns into disaster start for them as they lost Ganguly and McCullum early. Sanath Jayasuriya's 3 for 14, the best figures of the tournament for him help Mumbai Indians to restrict Kolkata Knight Riders for 138 runs. Laxmi Ratan Shukla brought some life for them as he scored 40 runs but it was not enough for them.

It was a easy target for 139, Mumbai started well in first over but soon they loss Rahane, Jayasuriya and Pandy and make their chasing more difficult at 25 for 3 wickets. But thanks to Robin Uthappa and Bravo Mumbai stay in match and won it. Bravo and Robin Uthappa duly put Mumbai beyond their victory target with an unbeaten 113-run fourth-wicket partnership. West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was top scorer for the Indians with an unbeaten knock of 64 from 53 balls.
