It was a good day for Mumbai who came out as a winner and won the second match in row after beating Delhi Devils by 29 runs which lifted them off in the IPL table. It was biggest upset of the Indian Premier League as Mumbai win against Delhi. It was their second successive victory, after four successive defeats. Now Mumbai Indians have two wins. After winning the toss Delhi Daredevils choose bowl first as they are playing IPL’s weakest team Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians had good start in this match and they put 46 runs on first wicket which was best start for Mumbai Indians. Shane Pollack came as a hero as he made quick 33 runs in 15 balls which help them to put 162 runs on the scorecard against Delhi Devil’s strong batting line up.
The target that Mumbai set 162 was an easy for Delhi who has many star players in the team and performed well in IPL. Mumbai started well and took both openers at four for two, Nehra removing Gautam Gambhir and Pollock took of Shikhar to put pressure on Delhi. Virender Sehwag's quick fire 40 from just 20 balls put some hope for Delhi but it was Mumbai Indians day that came out as winner. Ashish Nehra finished with three for 25 which was best performance for Indians bowler in IPL.
After this match Delhi lost their top spots and Mumbai came out of bottom part of table and now they are on 6th position with 4 points. |
